CANADA

I am now in Pembroke, Ontario, Canada (about 100 miles west of Ottowa). It's been quite rainy but luckily I missed the big storms here last week. The Ottowa river is beautiful. I hope to be down to the St. Lawrence Seaway and into New York tomorrow. I am also thinking I should make it to Camden, Keri's house by about wednesday!!!! I am quite excited to check out vermont and New Hampshire on the way and to get to Maine to see Keri. Oh yeah, I am also kicking around the idea of taking a right at the atlantic and riding down the coast to Florida. Erica and Michelle I would love to stop and see you. And if anyone else is out there let me know.

Take care!

Sault Ste Marie

Hello again,

Going through Wisconsin was great. I was able to see me mom, sister Wendy, Laticia, Uncle Frank and Aunt Judy, Jay and Autumn(good friends form back home). I almost hooked up with many other friends and family through there also but I am sorry to say it did not quite work out. The roads were rough through WI, and the U.P. but it is nice to be back in the trees again. I had breakfast with a nice couple from Haiti one morning in the U.P. who renewed my dreams of going down to Honduras to live and teach for awhile (sorry mom)!
Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore is amazing. If any one lives around there and has not been out there to see it, they should. I also met a great guy at the campground in Munising who had a boat and extra snorkel gear. He took me out to a huge shipwreck out in Lake Superior and I was able to snorkel all around it. It was only about 15 feet down so I was able to swim right down to it.
Lake Superior is awesome and I am very fortunate to have been able to bike the length of it. I am now in Sault Ste Marie, Mi. My tent overlooks the Soo Locks that connect Lake Superior and Lake Huron. I am taking the day off here today and will bike over the bridge into Canada tomorrow.

Done With the prairies!!!

Well, like I assumed it has been awhile. Every thing has been going great. The trip across eastern Montana was long hot and dry. Luckily I had some great company through those parts. North Dakota was wonderful. The tress started coming back and even a little tail wind. I met many fantastic people through the state. The only word that comes to mind is uff-da!

I am now through the prairies and into the hill and lake country of Northern Minnesota. It is great to have shade and be able to swim again. My dad met me at Lake Itasca for a little reunion at the headwaters and a day of r&r. Next it is off to Superior, Ashland and across the U P to Sault Ste. Marie and into Canada.

I will post more photos when I get a chance.

Well Let's Try It

Let's see how good I can be at keeping this up!
On the sidebar there is a link to the photos, no need to sign in, just enjoy. I will be updating them as much as possible. Life on the bike is good. Almost three weeks in and many mountain passes behind me. Now there is some flat ground and hopefully some big tail winds. I am in Havre, MT, now and I think I might make it to Superior, Wi in a little less than two weeks. Let me know if you are up for a bike ride or a fun night or two of camping up north. Well, enough for now, time to get some sleep.
